Micro chipping

The United States Equestrian Federation requires that, by December 1, 2017, all showing horses be micro chipped. It is imperative that horse recording information match with micro chip registration to be eligible for competition.   The US Jockey Club will require all thoroughbred horses to be micro chipped for the 2017 foal crop and onward. The majority of our client farms are doing pilot programs this year to get the foals micro chipped for the 2016 foal crop.

Photo Finish can provide full service micro chip implant and recording; making sure all paperwork and registration numbers are in order.   Being a full-service company, your microchip and recording information is always available upon request.  We can work with our network of experienced veterinarians to provide implantation services or will work with your own veterinary practice to get this coordinated for you.

With the rapidly evolving micro chip regulations,  you can be assured that Photo Finish Horse Identification has the experience and  capabilities to meet all current requirements.  Through working closely with the Jockey Club,  our President and CEO, Lynn Fenton has been invited to meetings that focus on developing new systems and micro chipping guidelines. There, she has been able to voice what works best for actual farms and help fine tune guidelines to better fit everyone's needs.   Lynn is among a handful of identifiers that is trusted and recommended by the Jockey Club; and as such, the Jockey Club has provided Lynn, as one their top identifiers, with a microchip scanner.
