Identification and Registration

Jockey Club registration includes a farm visit, 4-8 color photographs, and all markings and placement of head and neck cowlicks.  We can also make corrections to markings on original JC papers or can help you obtain a duplicate set of JC registration papers by providing you with the pictures and identification materials needed as required by the Jockey Club. Extra care and photographs are taken of the face and any markings that require additional attention, like heel markings, etc.

With special identifier status at the Jockey Club, We are able to enter the photos and markings separate from the application form. This allows farms to enter their own applications on their time, and make any changes or updates to the breeder and owner information, add names, and pay online. When the applications are entered, markings and pictures taken by Photo Finish Horse Identification are uploaded to sync with the application form. We can also enter the information for the application form for the farms as well. We will work with the clients on what methods best accommodate their needs.

The US Jockey Club will require all thoroughbred horses to be micro chipped for the 2017 foal crop and onward. The majority of current client farms are doing pilot programs this year to get the foals micro chipped for the 2016 foal crop.  Photo Finish Horse Identification can provide micro chipping services.
